I thoroughly enjoyed the 1950 book, “A Town Like Alice” by Nevil Shute. It is truly a great book It still reads very well and it is very enjoyable after 70 years since it’s original publication. The main character, Jean Paget is a very strong, resilient and quick-witted woman.
